Kathy's previous work experience included user support at the University of Edinburgh's computing support service and Berkshire County Planning Department and systems analysis at Plessey Information Systems in Swindon.
Kathy's research interests have in the past led her to develop computer based learning material for the Nursing Department at QMC. Her current research includes the use of computer user groups and other support mechnanisms in the workplace and in the home. Also on the home theme Kathy is involved in collaborative research in the use and application of information and information technology by the home computer user - in particular she will be focusing on gender issues. In the coming year, as well as supporting the Life Sciences programme for LTDI, she will be co-authoring a book on Well Being at Work which will look at human factors issues such as training and ergonomics for information managers.
